Segeltorps IF was one of 44 clubs from Sweden that had teams playing during Golden Cup 2016. They participated with one team in P05 Svår/Extra svår.

In addition to Segeltorps IF, 7 other teams played in P05 Svår/Extra svår. They were divided into 2 different groups, whereof Segeltorps IF could be found in Group 2 together with Syrianska IF Västerås, Huddinge IF and FC Djursholm 1.

Segeltorps IF continued to Slutspel after reaching 1:st place in Group 2. In the playoff they made it to Semi final, but lost it against Hammarby IF FF 7 with 0-2. In the Final, AIK FF A won over Hammarby IF FF 7 and became the winner of Slutspel in P05 Svår/Extra svår.

Segeltorps IF also participated in P05 Svår/Extra svår during Golden Cup 2015. They reached the 1/4 Final in P05 Svår/Extra svår Slutspel, but lost it against AIK FF A with 4-5.

Segeltorps comes from Kungens kurva which lies approximately 25 km from Kungsängen, where Golden Cup takes place. The area around Kungens kurva does also provide 40 additional clubs participating during Golden Cup 2016 (Among others: Spånga IS FK 6, Vendelsö IK, Sollentuna FK, FC Djursholm, Stuvsta IF, Enskede IK, Apollon Solna FK, IFK Lidingö FK, Åkersberga FC and Vasastan BK).
